CAPTURING CHARACTER
When photography was new, some believed the magic box with a lens could capture your soul. They weren’t entirely wrong.
An audience responds to the truth of a subject’s personality and character. If a person is sincere and genuine they will give a great interview. If they are not comfortable in their own skin, even the best interviewer will fail to overcome that sense of uneasiness.
In all our work we strive to capture and present the best character of our subjects. You’ve met people who love what they do, who live for the passions they have and who care for others in meaningful and inspiring ways. We find ways to put that on the screen, to make you feel like you have spent time with these people and that you have an understanding of what makes them tick — creating an emotional connection.
CREATING ENGAGEMENT
What good is a video no one watches all the way through or starts talking about something else when it’s playing? Creating that engagement can be elusive — it isn’t created solely by a great writer or good talent or a big budget or a nice camera. It’s a combination of story, honesty, emotion, editing and pace.
People connect to stories — stories of problems solved, goals achieved, and people's lives made better. Most importantly, emotions are invoked creating lasting impressions.
Engagement also means nothing the audience sees or hears distracts from the message. That means there are no focus problems or other camera issues; there are no sound glitches or tinny audio; nothing in the background is distracting. Information comes in a logical way and at a reasonable pace. Topics aren't belabored and rabbit trails are kept to a minimum. Before they know it, your audience has arrived at your final point ready to take action. That's engagement.
WORKING WITH THE EXPERTS
We know you have many things to do and becoming an expert in video production is probably not high on your list. As one of our clients you can have as much or as little involvement in the production process as you have time and interest. Once you feel comfortable that we have a clear and thorough understanding of your vision, you are free to tend to other tasks and wait for us to submit the first version of a program.
And don't worry, we'll be close on that first version. In fact, over 90% of our projects finish at version 2. And most of the time, version 2 represents less than a 10% change from version 1. We're proud of that and we approach each project as an opportunity to use our experience to make the process easy and the final video exceed your expectations.
